EyePromise® Partner Dylan Wu Ranks Among Top 10 In Zurich Classic

Posted by EyePromise on Apr 27th 2022

Over the last week (April 18-24), New Orleans hosted its annual PGA TOUR event called the Zurich Classic. Two of our golf ambassadors, Dylan Wu and Jared Wolfe, competed in this tournament. The 2022 tournament was one for the record books, so we’re sharing why that is and how our golf partners performed.

The Zurich Classic

Formally known by several other names, the Classic was first sponsored by Zurich Insurance in 2005. This was the year they also began hosting the tournament at TPC Louisiana. After Zurich agreed to additional years of sponsorship, the tournament style was changed to a two-man team format in 2016. This was the first team event on the PGA TOUR since 1981. This exciting new format put collaboration to the test in two rounds of foursome (aka: alternate shot) and two rounds of fourball (i.e., best ball) competition.

In addition to a thrilling team competition, the Zurich Classic is well-known for its philanthropic efforts. Since 1991, tournament sponsors have been dedicated to giving back to the city of New Orleans, as well as communities throughout southeastern Louisiana. The tournament has donated over $26 million to charities since 2005, helping more than 200,000 children gain access to education and healthcare every year. Additionally, the nonprofit Fore!Kids Foundation works with the Zurich Classic and other events, raising another $42 million for kids in need.

The 2022 Zurich Classic

This past week’s tournament hosted 80 teams of two golfers, with tournament veterans Billy Horschel, Justin Rose and Colin Morikawa returning to TPC Louisiana. After the first 36 holes, cuts were made to leave the top 33 teams and ties for the last two rounds. After an exciting showing and a record-setting finish, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay beat out Billy Horschel and Sam Burns by two shots for the title.

EyePromise® ambassadors Dylan Wu and Jared Wolfe came out to play and gave it their all in Louisiana. While Wolfe was beat out before the cut, Wu earned a spot in the top 10 with the help of partner Justin Lower. With an impressive score of -22, each of the young golfers took home $98,286. Congratulations to Dylan, Justin, Jared, and all the golfers who participated this year!

Upgrading Your Golf Game

If you’re looking to step up your golf performance, Dylan Wu and Jared Wolfe, along with fellow young golfer Lee Hodges and golf legends Colin Montgomerie and Pádraig Harrington, turned to EyePromise to gain an edge. They started taking EyePromise Vizual Edge Pro™ last year, and they’ve noticed some pretty big improvements. From their ability to track a drive to reading the subtle contours of the greens, Wu and Wolfe were both impressed with how their eyes are seeing better.
