EyePromise® Partner Berths Postseason Play

Posted by EyePromise on Oct 13th 2021

Over the last few years, EyePromise® has been working with several professional sports organizations including baseball. In fact, EyePromise is the official eye vitamin of the Boston Red Sox, who have recently earned their postseason spot. We’re excited for our partners, but the road to October baseball wasn’t paved with sunshine and rose petals. It was paved with hard work, and maybe a little bit of vitamins.

Red Sox Season Review

At the start of the 2021 season, the Red Sox were hot. While they started with a few losses, they came back with a 9-game win streak. Fans and critics alike were impressed with the momentum the team had right out the gate, but like all good things, it had to come to an end.

After the win streak ended, the Red Sox team had a rather uneventful season, wavering between wins and losses. Some noted that the team’s hitting seemed to be on point, but the defensive aspects needed some work. We’re not saying that EyePromise vitamins had anything to do with their impressive batting stats, but an average 10% increase in visual processing speed and reaction time our vitamins deliver certainly didn’t hurt!

The Wild Card Game

The Red Sox played their way to the Wild Card spot, where they played against the New York Yankees. The game was hosted at the Red Sox’s home field, the iconic Fenway Park, on Tuesday, October 5th. The home team must’ve felt the homefield advantage, because they ended up beating out the Yankees 6-2 in regular innings.

The ALDS Series

After an exciting race to the playoffs, the Red Sox have momentum on their side going into the first round of American League Division Series (ALDS) playoffs. They were matched up with the Tampa Bay Rays, with the first game being in Tampa. Throughout the season, these two teams have been relatively evenly matched, but the Red Sox have more losses on their head-to-head record.

The Red Sox kept their hot streak going into the matchup. They gave the fans a nail-biting game 4, losing a 5-run lead towards the end of the game. A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth earned the Red Sox 2 runs, winning the game 6-5 and the series in 4 games. The team’s overall play was impressive, but their offensive abilities were on full display as their defense seemed to lack a bit.

Up Next for the Red Sox

As the Red Sox progress to the American League Championship series (ALCS), they wait to see who they’ll play from the Astros-White Sox series. If the team wishes to continue in the race to the World Series, they’ll need more than a hot streak and decent batting. They’ll need to put on a full-field performance, improving on some aspects and remaining strong in others. It’ll be an interesting and, no doubt, exciting postseason for the Boston Red Sox, and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming games!
