When it comes to dedicated fans, few other sports have them quite like college football. We can almost hear the excitement building in these fan bases across the country because the NCAA collegiate football is soon to be underway.

College Football 2023

The 2023 college football season officially begins August 26th with a game at Notre Dame. While the season’s start still feels miles away, official camps for collegiate football can start as early as next weekend (four weeks prior to season start). The 2023 schedules for both SEC and ACC have been released, with several interesting matchups happening late in the season like Alabama vs. Auburn.

Preseason Top 25

While the season has yet to unfold (or even begin), an article on the NCAA website lists the top twenty-five college football teams for the 2023 season, with most of the decisions being made based on last year’s performance. Here are the top ten and why (don’t come for us, this is from the NCAA!):

1. Georgia: undefeated winners of the College Football Playoff (CFP) national championship
2. Michigan: just missed out on the CFP championship
3. Ohio State: just missed out on the CFP championship
4. Alabama: reigning Sugar Bowl champions
5. Penn State: reigning Rose Bowl champions
6. LSU: reigning Citrus Bowl champions
7. Florida State: reigning Cheez-It Bowl champions
8. USC: one win away from the CFP
9. Washington: reigning Alamo Bowl champions
10. TCU: runner-up in the CFP championship

Of course, no one can know for sure what's going to happen, and teams like UCLA and Texas are hoping to make their mark on the 2023 season.
