I'm being honest - it's not right for MGD because you can't tell how hot it is going to be, microwaving is incredibly imprecise and inaccurate, but most of all: the heat fades way too quickly to be of much therapeutic use. It's too hot or not hot enough, and all within the maybe five minutes you can even try to work with it after you heat it.
I generally only leave positive reviews, if I have a negative one, I generally keep it to myself. But this is disappointing. This is the second "inexpensive" product of this type I've tried: I wanted to attempt to melt the Meibomian oil without having to buy a relatively expensive device. But the problem is that it requires a sustained heat within the right range, and this is not going to do that, not by a long shot. This material gets hot extremely quickly, but it cools off too quickly to get the 10-15 minutes needed. I got up three times to reheat it, trying to guess how many seconds were right - and not succeeding, so you have to do it for short bursts and keep checking, and then it's quickly too hot, so you have to wait, this just isn't going to work.
I'm not angry, I gave it a try, waited a few days for it to get here, my money is gone, I'll have to go to an actual workable solution. It will cost around five times as much as this did, so I can understand why it was worth a try, but it only added to the ultimate cost.
