CPSDA 2024
Posted by EyePromise on May 29th 2024
EyePromise® was excited to attend the 2024 Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA) event last week in Kansas City, MO. With over 600 attendees, we had the opportunity to speak with many industry experts as well as athletes and share how EyePromise can help them upgrade their eyes and their game.
EyePromise At CPSDA
During the show, which ran Sunday, May 19, through Wednesday, May 22, EyePromise shared how our Zea Performance System™ can help elevate sports programs. We had the pleasure of speaking with representatives from collegiate football powerhouses, baseball royalty, hockey legends, hard-hitting fighters, and even government associations. These organizations span competition levels and activities, but all were interested in taking their programs to the next level.
Eye Health for Performance
The attendees understand the need for ocular nutrition, as vision is a critical piece of performance in many aspects. For this particular group, it’s imperative they find a supplement partner they can trust for their athletes, and that requires products that are:
- NSF® Certified for Sport
- Crafted with high-quality, natural ingredients
- Easy additions to their athletes’ daily regimens
Luckily, EyePromise meets these requirements.
The Science
The attendees of CPSDA are a science-focused group, so they appreciate that EyePromise is the most clinically supported eye health performance supplement available. However, they struggled to understand how clinical improvements recorded for a baseball player could translate to other sports. Here’s how the results of A Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study on the Effects of Lutein and Zeaxanthin on Neural Processing Speed and Efficiency can impact other sports:
- Improved contrast sensitivity: This visual performance skill helps baseball players find a pop fly against a cloudy sky, but it can also help football players find a pass against a dark stadium ceiling or the night sky.
- Improved visual processing speed and reaction time: While this improvement helps batters see the seams on a baseball to read a pitch, faster reaction time can help any athlete gain an edge. For example, if a hockey player tips a shot, this visual performance skill can help a goalie see the change in spin and react to stop the puck.
- Reduced light and glare sensitivity: Another skill that helps when finding a baseball in the air, it can also help basketball players focus on the play, even with all the stadiums lights interfering.
While the event is over, we’re excited to continue the conversation with so many of these attendees and create lasting partnerships.
